I am a professional pianist and experienced piano instructor based in Springfield, VA. I’ve been sharing my skills and experience with students wishing to learn the skills of playing the piano. Meet Mr. Seidel

I have been teaching students how to play the piano most of my life. I love what I do and it makes me so happy to be able to share my passion for the piano with others. I have performed in over 3,500 concerts during my 34-year career and have published 21 recordings. In addition to my teaching schedule, I perform dining and background music for the The Bombay Club Restaurant in Washington, D.C. I began studying piano at age six in my native state of Connecticut. I was a student of Alma Boutilier and attended the Norwich Free Academy. I studied the organ, along with the piano, for my music degree and performance. My tutelage was under Laurence Morton of the Toronto Conservatory, and Victor Shklyar of the Moscow Conservatory. I also studied sacred keyboard and composition under Dr. Frank Garlock, and contemporary secular improvisation under Wesley Hamrick of Orlando, Florida.

Lessons

Instruction includes traditional scale work and other unique methods of technique as well as review of the music assigned, and can be done in my home or virtually, via FaceTime.

I am a recent graduate of the Grace School of Music and South County High School and I can tell you that learning from Mr. Seidel was a wonderful and rewarding experience. I took lessons for 9 years and I loved every minute of it. He is patient and is able to teach the hardest of music and make you believe that you can do it.

Lenny is a wonderful instructor with a passion for the great works. He has an extensive knowledge of piano repertoire and always demonstrates genuine kindness and eagerness towards his students. He is intentional about encouraging young pianists to learn challenging pieces and push themselves at the keyboard, but doesn't burden them with more than they can handle. I spent 13 years with him as my instructor, and he broadened my understanding of and appreciation for the piano immensely.
